Roof Insurance Claim Inspection Help for Houston-Area Homeowners

After hail, wind, or a severe storm, many homeowners aren't sure whether their roof is damaged or whether to contact their insurance company. Blue Boot Roofing, a company built on faith, integrity, and service, can help you get clear answers. We inspect your roof, document the damage, explain your options, and help guide you through the insurance restoration process from inspection to completion, while you stay in charge of your claim. We're locally owned and based in Fulshear, Texas, serving homeowners across Houston and the surrounding areas.

How We Help

  • Free roof inspection: We inspect your roof for hail, wind, and storm damage and tell you honestly what we find, including when we don't find damage.
  • Damage documentation: We document the damage with photos and notes that you can share with your insurance company.
  • Plain-English explanation: We explain what we found, what it means for your roof, and your repair or replacement options.
  • Adjuster inspection: If you ask us to, we can be there when your insurance adjuster inspects your roof to point out the damage we documented.
  • Repair or replacement: If you choose Blue Boot Roofing for the work, we complete it with quality materials and expert installation, backed by our lifetime workmanship warranty for the original homeowner.

What We Don't Do

Texas law doesn't allow a roofing contractor to act as a public insurance adjuster on a home where it does or may do the work. To follow the law and protect you, Blue Boot Roofing does not:

  • File insurance claims for homeowners
  • Negotiate claim settlements with insurance companies
  • Represent you or speak for you on coverage questions
  • Promise any claim outcome or payment amount
  • Waive, pay, or rebate your deductible

You make the decisions about your claim. If you want someone to represent you with your insurance company, you can hire a licensed public adjuster or an attorney who is not doing the work on your roof.

How a Roof Insurance Claim Usually Works in Texas

Every policy and insurance company is different, but the process usually looks like this:

  1. Check for damage. A free roof inspection can tell you whether there's storm damage worth reporting.
  2. Review your policy. Look at your coverage, your deductible, and any deadlines for reporting damage. Some Texas policies have a separate wind and hail deductible, often a percentage of your home's insured value.
  3. Contact your insurance company. If you decide to file a claim, you report it to your insurance company directly.
  4. Adjuster inspection. Your insurance company usually sends an adjuster to inspect the damage.
  5. Coverage decision. Your insurance company decides what's covered and explains its decision to you.
  6. Repairs. Once you're ready, you choose who does the work. If that's us, we schedule your project at a time that works for you.

About Your Deductible

Texas law requires homeowners to pay their insurance deductible, and it's illegal for a contractor to offer to waive, absorb, or rebate it. Be cautious of any contractor who offers to "cover" your deductible. Blue Boot Roofing will never make that offer.
